In these days, high-performance computing has become a backbone technology of modern computer simulations challenging to solve real world’s complex problems.  Model size has been increasing and problems to be solved have been more and more complex.  Among a variety of solution techniques of matrix systems, iterative methods and parallel computing play a key role in solving such large scale and complex problems.  In this mini-symposium, we discuss latest research and development of iterative solutions and parallel computing for various types of computation mechanics problems such as solid, fluid, thermal, electromagnetic, multi-physics and multi-scale probelms on various kinds of high-performance computing systems.
